The Top 3 Reasons Why You Should Plan a Preaching Calendar (Part 2)

2014-Preaching-Calendar-buttonYesterday, I shared with you how planning your preaching calendar in advance can help you maximize your impact because it takes just as much work for you to do it at the last minute as it does in advance.

But it’s more productive work. You’re going to put work into planning these services, and it’s either going to be crunch time at the last minute or it’s going to be spread out over the course of the long haul. It not only increases your impact, but you get a greater return on your investment.

Another way planning ahead benefits your ministry is through your Big Days.

Reason #2: It allows you to maximize your Big Days.

If you’re familiar with the church growth process that I teach, then you will know that a great way to break growth barriers in your church through Big Days. In fact, Big Days are the best way to grow your people and maximize your impact in the kingdom.

A big part of what I teach in the Senior Pastor Coaching Network is how to get ready for your Big Days, how to prepare for your Big Days, and how to preserve the fruit of your Big Days.  You want to get as many first time guests to your Big Days as possible.  But then, you also want to get as many of them to come back.

For example, I know right now that I’m going to have a Big Day coming up in February 2014. Well, because I know that, I have a ramp up period that I can plan for that. There are certain things I need to do at the end of this year to get ready for my Big Day next year.

I know that I’m going to have another Big Day on April 20th of next year (and you are too!) because April 20th of next year is Easter. By knowing this in advance, nothing sneaks up on you. That’s a bad way to live– to have an opportunity and to miss an opportunity.

I hate to have an opportunity where we could reach more people, where we could increase our impact, where we could do the same work but see a greater return for the kingdom and then blow it.

That is where planning in advance can really have a powerful impact on your ministry.
