The Healthy Pastor: Drink Up for Wellness

51vgqldEQML“When you consider that our bodies are mostly made of water, it makes sense that water is important for our physical wellbeing. Just think about it: Your brain and heart are 73% water. Your lungs are 83% water. Your skin is 64% water. Your muscles and kidneys are 79% water. Even your bones are 31% water. Without enough water being poured into our systems, our health will, well… dry up.

When there is enough of it to go around, water accomplishes some amazing things in your body. Water:

  • Gives you energy
  • Regulates digestion
  • Aids in weight loss
  • Helps stabilize blood pressure
  • Clears toxins from your body
  • Reduces the chances of kidney stones
  • Helps maintain your body’s proper acid and alkaline balance
  • Improves focus and mental acuity
  • Hydrates your skin and slows down the appearance of aging

Time to to drink some water!”

– Nelson Searcy, Steve Reynolds & Jennifer Dykes Henson
