Northstar Church Helping Community After Hurricane Michael

Today’s post comes with a prayerful heart as longtime coaching alumni church Northstar grapples with the effects of Hurricane Michael in all three of their locations near Panama City, Florida. Northstar is currently on the front lines of helping people and providing needed food, water and supplies.

Northstar Church was started in 1998 by Lead Pastor Marty Martin. Marty felt a God-given desire to go back to the Bay County area, where he’s from, in order to start a church for people who did not have a relationship with God or who had discontinued going to church. Northstar began with 20 people in attendance and has since grown to 2,000 attendees across multiple campuses throughout the Florida Panhandle, as well as online in 142 different countries.

I can personally vouch for their vision and passion: they strive to help the world find and follow Jesus Christ. Marty is a personal friend and an alumni of my Gold and Titanium Coaching Networks. And their point pastor for the relief efforts is a former Church Leader Insights team member. If you feel called to help the communities affected by Hurricane Michael, Northstar is a great place to direct your attention, relief support or financial gifts. Like any organization or church you would choose to connect with, I of course recommend you do your own research. Don’t just take my word for it!

Learn more about Northstar and their Hurricane Michael Relief efforts at the following link: www.northstar.church/hurricane. Additionally, their website offers this message:

Though Hurricane Michael ravaged our area and took so much from so many, Northstar Church has been tirelessly serving the immediate needs of the people in our community and working to rebuild. We deeply appreciate our partners and the volunteers who have helped and are helping this mission. We are here for the long term, and we are determined to be a conduit for the blessings of God to our community and make famous the Name of Jesus.

Northstar has distributed needed food, water and supplies from their Callaway campus, as that is one of the most hard-hit communities affected by Hurricane Michael. The church is currently heavily involved in putting tarps on individuals’ roofs to avoid further damage and loss due to rain and sending teams with chainsaws to homes that need fallen trees removed. Northstar also assisted in getting a medical clinic up and running in the Callaway community. Both local hospitals have been evacuated and are only running ER’s for very significant injuries. Without clinics, minor injuries will escalate and become larger problems in the future.

To help the Hurricane Michael relief cause and donate, click this link to their website: www.northstar.church/hurricane. You’ll be prompted to click to donate, then give the offered amount. You’ll see a dropdown option, at which point you should select “outside organization.” The second dropdown will require you to select “Hurricane Disaster Relief.”

Please keep everyone affected by Hurricane Michael in your prayers today!
