This week I am giving you some tips on managing your life and calendar the way God intended you to.
There are 5 pillars in your calendar. If you get these five pillars in your calendar, then it seems like everything else will be built correctly. Everything else will be able to stand– you’ll have a life that can stand strong for the ages.
But what we often do is we put the wrong things as the anchors in our calendar.
What I know is, if you get these certain things first, then everything else kind of falls in its place. These are pillars that you want to schedule. If you get these five anchors right, you’ll be able to navigate everything else you need to do.
If you don’t get these right, your calendar’s going to spin out of control. These pillars help insure that your calendar will be under your control and under God’s control.
The first pillar- the first thing you want to schedule in your Sabbath. Every six days, you need a 24-hour period where you abstain from your primary vocation. That’s what the Sabbath is.
Here’s how God wired you up. To work six days, take a day off. Work six, rest one. The more you cooperate with the way God wired you up, the more productive you’re going to be.
A Sabbath is not always the same as a day off. A Sabbath is a particular kind of day off. The Sabbath is a day off, but not every day off is a Sabbath.
There are some very important things you do on that day of rest. In my new resource, The Renegade Pastor Calendar, you can learn when to schedule and what things to schedule on your Sabbath to maximize your time and impact. Click here for more information!
