The Power of Reflection (Part 3 of 4)

Last week in part 2 of this series I mentioned how I’d once heard that failure is a few errors in judgement repeated every day.

To stop this cycle of failure, you need time to reflect.

I shared when to reflect and this week I want to share some key areas to reflect on.checklist

In no particular order:

Physical Health – Schedule an annual physical. You’ve got to have drive and clarity of thought if you’re going to fulfill your calling.

Spiritual Health – Are you closer to God today than you were at the beginning of the year?

Relational health. How are you doing in relating to those you are closest to: your spouse, children, family, co-workers, friends?

Financial health. You don’t have to be an expert but keep an eye on your financial statements.

Personal growth / career health. Are we fulfilling our calling? Are we investing in ourselves? How did we do as pastors over the previous year?

Church health. This is where we stand back and look at healthy systems, where our church needs work, and at the previous year in our church.

Tune in next week for the final installment in this four part series.

Your partner in ministry,

Nelson
