Happy Birthday, Martin Luther!

Today we are celebrating Martin Luther’s birthday who was born on this day in 1483. Happy Birthday, Martin!

Luther forever changed Western civilization when he nailed his 95 Theses to the doors of Wittenburg Church in open dissent of Pope Leo X and the Catholic Church.

His defiant act that day on October 31, 1517 marked the official start of the Protestant Reformation, which we celebrated on this blog for the entire month of October.

In case you missed it, here are some of my favorite posts on Martin Luther from last month:

How to Preach Well According to Martin Luther
Reformation Celebration: A Gospel-Filled Luther Playmobil Video
How Martin Luther Changed the World (Podcast)
Martin Luther: My Top Video Picks (Free)

Also, there are many books written by or about Martin Luther, so let me suggest you start with:

Table Talk by Martin Luther
Bondage of the Will by Martin Luther
Christmas Sermons by Martin Luther
Here I Stand by Roland Bainton
The Great Orators of the Reformation (2017) by Luther, Calvin, Knox, Latimer, Zwingli, Fenélon

Again, Happy Birthday to you, Martin Luther!
