Last week in this multi-part series, I shared two more powerful phrases that I use at The Journey Church during our Sunday worship services. Today I’ll share my final three phrases that can help you improve the life-changing impact of your worship services each week.

Magic Phrase #5: “You may be seated”
Another similar option is “Great job singing — you may have a seat.”

This is part of creating a hospitable environment for your first-time guests. How you say these words matters. The wrong thing to say would be “Sit down!” See the difference?

With “You may be seated,” you’re letting your guests know what comes next. When you provide this direction, your first-time guest experience a sense of relief that they are doing the correct thing. Again, your objective here is to create a fluid worship experience so your guests can stay focused on the right thing — being focused on God.

Magic Phrase #6: “Remain standing as we…”
This is really important to help you not to break the flow of the worship service.

You can fill in the rest with several types of events. Remain standing as we . . .
…continue to worship
…pray
…welcome our children’s choir on stage
…start our time of communion

Think about those moments and help people to remain in that; minimize distractions for them.

Magic Phrase #7: “It’s been a great day”
This is like the final blessing or benediction.

This phrase ends the service on a positive note, reinforcing what God did in their life today. They made a great choice to be at the service today!

Whether you use some or all of these words, be sure to think through every element of your worship service. Remember, little things don’t mean a lot — they mean everything.
