Nine Years of Decline…time to act

You may be surprised to know that my original ordination was with the Southern Baptists (I’ll tell you the longer story sometime) so I keep up with them.

Just recently, they announced that the denomination is in the ninth straight year of DECLINE!

Wow. And what’s shocking to me, is that instead of going on emergency mode to reverse it, they keep doing ‘business as usual.’

My ‘Renegade reaction’ is to immediately act when there’s a drop, decline or falling result.

What’s your reaction? Are you content with ‘business as usual’ in the face of decline?

I hope not!

Here’s another startling stat from the SBC:

“Of those who were in an SBC church when they were 16, only 62 percent are in an SBC church today.

I want to help you take steps NOW to prevent your first-time guests from leaving and make it easier for them to return the following Sundays.

As you may know, I’m passionate about Assimilation (getting new people to come back and get plugged in), but there’s also a flipside of assimilation that can be tough to deal with … not ALL of your new guests will return to your church.

And beyond that, there are regular attenders and members of your church right now that won’t be attending your church by the time fall comes around.

It’s a fact that we all have to deal with… but can we do more than just “deal with” the fact that people do leave?

For over two decades now, I’ve been dealing with the personal pain of people leaving, the spiritual consequences of people leaving and the “failure feelings” that come when someone leaves.

So I recently started to humbly ask myself, ask our leaders and ask God, “Why are people leaving?”

And what I discovered amazed me.

I learned that about 95% of the time, people leave for SIX MAJOR reasons.

That was good news to me.  I can identify and deal with six reasons (not six hundred or six thousand – six seems a lot more manageable).

I began to teach these six reasons to the 2,000+ pastors that I’ve coached and found over and over again that these reasons were behind 95% of the ‘losses’ in their church too.

But then I took it a step further, I asked: What can I do about it?

With God’s help and insight, I discovered that there were practical steps I could take to either prevent people from leaving before they walked out the door or steps I could take to keep the door open for their return.

And now I want to share these lessons with you by giving you “Why People Leave Your Church and What You Can Do About It” for Only $49 (HALF OFF) – Today through Tomorrow, Friday, July 8th!

I don’t want you to miss this opportunity for us to partner together to stop the decline and grow God’s kingdom.

Your partner in ministry,

Nelson

P.S. – In this one-hundred-twenty-two minute resource, I describe in detail the six major reasons people leave. And then I show you SIX BIBLICAL ACTIONS YOU CAN TAKE to either keep people from leaving in the first place or make sure the door remains open for their return.
