The Healthy Pastor: Making Good Choices

51vgqldEQML“When you choose to do the right next thing – regardless of how you feel in the moment – you will always be glad you did. You will never hear someone on the path to health say, ‘I wish I hadn’t gotten that workout in,’ or ‘I really wish I had blown it with my food choices today.’

Whenever I don’t feel like being healthy, I remind myself of Paul’s words:

I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified. – 1 Corinthians 9:27″

– Nelson Searcy, Steve Reynolds & Jennifer Dykes Henson

The above quote is from p. 142 of The Healthy Renegade Pastor: Abandoning Average in Your Health and Wellness.
