Recently, I shared my #1 regret in my last 25 years of ministry is that I have not done enough to call out the called. You can read about some of the ways I plan on correcting that mistake here.
Have you thought about raising up people to answer God’s call to preach? Does your church have systems in place to help you accomplish this?
When you evaluate your own church on this, ask yourself these questions:
- How many young men have felt called to preach under your ministry?
- How many people have left one career and are now pursuing a career in ministry?
- How many folks have you ordained out of your church that are now serving in ministry?
We’re talking about that “on the ground” foundational approach of helping someone discern God’s call, either to leave another career or to make this their career from the time they start.
How can we get more intentional about calling out the called?
What if we were to cooperate with God and see a revolution of people going into ministry? Will you join me in doing more to call out the called?
Your partner in ministry,
Nelson
P.S. – Would you like to join me in doing more to call out the called? Do you have a “Timothy” that you’re currently raising up as a future senior pastor or church planter? Then I’d like to invite you – and your “Timothy” – to join me next month in Walt Disney World for a brand new, one time event called The 25 Seminar: Uncovering the Lost Secrets of Pastoral Ministry Success.
This will be a great jumpstart to their ministry and an opportunity for you to invest in them.
