Protecting Your Voice: 5 Helpful Tips (Part 2 of 2)

Since the voice is a tool that God has given us for the purposes of his kingdom, taking care of our voices is part of our calling.

In part one of this two-part blog series, I shared the first two tips in protecting your voice.

Here are the remaining 3 tips to try out this week in preparation for your next sermon:

#3. Don’t exert your voice. Try not to strain your voice between your speaking times. Rest your voice the night before the service.

#4. Listen to your voice on tape. Record yourself, then listen to it, looking for ways to improve.

#5. Use supplemental aides:

  • Vocalzone. Amazing throat lozenges I learned about in New York from Broadway performers — occasionally you can use them in between services.
  • Throat Coat (by Traditional Medicinals). Some of my Titanium Coaching Network people sing the praises of this medicinal tea.

And one final word from Spurgeon: “I express the hope that your chest, lungs, windpipe, larynx and all your vocal organs may last you until you have nothing more to say.”
